Diretrizes para Autores

1. A revista recebe textos para avaliação em fluxo contínuo.

2. Os textos submetidos a Revista MODOS devem ter no mínimo quatro mil palavras e não podem exceder o limite de oito mil palavras (resenhas e textos sobre montagem de exposições devem ter entre três e cinco mil palavras), incluindo as notas e referências bibliográficas. Os originais deverão ser digitados em Winword, fonte Times New Roman 12, espaço 1,5, formato de página A-4 (não é permitido o formato paisagem). A contribuição deve ser inédita. O título do texto deve ser centralizado, em letra minúscula e em negrito. Abaixo, à direita, deve constar o nome do autor. As informações sobre filiação, fonte/s de financiamento da pesquisa e e-mail devem ser colocadas na primeira nota de rodapé.

3. As imagens, quando for o caso, além de inseridas no corpo do texto, deverão ser enviadas como arquivo complementar em formato .JPG e ter resolução de 200 dpi. Ao reproduzir no texto submetido material previamente publicado (incluindo textos, gráficos, tabelas, figuras ou quaisquer outros materiais), a legislação cabível de direitos autorais deverá ser respeitada e a fonte citada.

4. Todo texto submetido deverá ser acompanhado de resumo e cinco palavras-chave em português, com versão em inglês, com 200 palavras no máximo. Do mesmo modo, o autor deve enviar título em português e em inglês, devendo o mesmo expressar, de forma clara e precisa o conteúdo geral do artigo. O resumo deverá conter o objetivo do trabalho, os procedimentos metodológicos, os resultados, em determinados casos, e as conclusões.

5. As notas de rodapé deverão ser sucintas. As remissões bibliográficas não deverão ser feitas em notas, e sim figurar no corpo principal do texto. Na remissão deverá constar o nome do autor, seguido da data de publicação da obra e do número da página, sendo este separado por dois pontos.

Exemplos: Segundo Foster (2004: 05), uma mediação que teve larga difusão... Conferindo um caráter descontínuo ao conhecimento sobre o passado (Ricoeur, 2007: 407).

6. As transcrições no texto de até três linhas devem estar encerradas entre aspas duplas. As transcrições no texto com mais de três linhas devem ser destacadas com recuo de 4 cm da margem esquerda, sem aspas, com espaço entre linhas simples e com letra tamanho 11.

7. O uso de itálico deverá se limitar aos estrangeirismos e aos títulos de obras; não deverá ser utilizado negrito no texto e nas notas; o sublinhado deve ser evitado, exceto em endereços da internet (URL).

8. Estilo do texto deve ser claro e coerente na exposição das ideias, observando-se o uso adequado da linguagem. Sugere-se ao autor que o trabalho passe por uma revisão gramatical antes de seu encaminhamento à Revista.

9. Os textos que incidam sobre pesquisas que envolvem seres humanos, devem obrigatoriamente ter sido aprovado por Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, conforme preconizam as diretrizes e normas da Resolução 0196/96. Os autores deverão inserir a cópia digitalizada da declaração de aprovação do Comitê de Ética em pesquisa da instituição.

10. As referências são baseadas na ABNT NBR 6023:2018. Devem ser alocadas no final do texto. Não serão aceitas referências de monografias de conclusão de curso de graduação e de textos não publicados (aulas, entre outros).

11. Deverá ser observado prazo de dois anos entre as submissões de um mesmo autor, quer o manuscrito anterior tenha sido aceito ou rejeitado.

Instruction for authors

1. The journal receives submissions for evaluation continuously.

2. Texts submitted to MODOS Journal must be at least four thousand words and cannot exceed the limit of eight thousand words (reviews and texts about exhibition montage must have between three and five thousand words), including notes and bibliographic references. Originals need to be typed in WinWord, Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 times line space, A4 portrait format (we do not accept landscape format). The contribution should be original. The title should be centralized, in lower case and in bold. Below, on the right, follows the author’s name. Information about affiliation, acknowledgment of research sponsorship and email address should be included in the first footnote.

3. Images, if applicable, should be inserted into the main body of the text, and additionally sent as complimentary file in.JPG format, with a resolution of at least 200 dpi. When reusing previously published material (including texts, graphs, tables, figures or any other material), valid copyright legislature should be followed and the source cited.

4. Every text submitted should be accompanied by an abstract with no more than 200 words and five key-words in Portuguese and English. The authors should also send the title in Portuguese and in English, and title should clearly express the general content of the article. The abstract should contain the objective of the work, the methods, the results, and in some cases, the conclusion.  

5. The footnotes should be succinct. Information about authors cited should not be done in footnotes, but be included in the main body of the text. Citations should contain the name of the author, followed by the date of the publication and page number, separated by colon.

Example: According to Foster (2004: 05), a measurement that had large dissemination...

Giving a discontinuous character to the knowledge about the past (Ricoeur, 2007: 407).

6. In-text citations of up to three lines should be marked by double quotation marks. Citations with more than three lines should start in the next line with 4 cm from the left margin, without quotation marks, with simple space between lines and with font size 11.

7. The use of italics should be limited to foreign words and titles of works; bold should not be used in the text or footnotes; underline should be avoided, except in URL addresses.

8. The work should be clear and coherent in the expositions of ideas and style, observing the correct use of language. We suggest that the work is revised for language and grammar use before submission to the journal.

9. Research involving human beings should mandatorily have been approved by a research ethics committee, according to the directions and norms of the 0196/96 Resolution. Authors should insert a digital copy of the declaration of approval by the ethics committee of their institution.  

10. Bibliographic references are based on the ABNT NBR 6023:2018. They should be allocated at the end of the text. We will not accept referencing undergraduate dissertations and non-published texts (e.g. class notes).

11. A two-year period must be observed between submissions by the same author, whether the previous manuscript has been accepted or rejected.

As part of the process of submission, the authors should verify that the article follows all the items below. Submissions that do not follow the norms will be sent back to the authors.
